Extremely Simple? Or Simply Extreme?

Think back. What has affected your life, changed your direction, altered the way you saw yourself or the world around you - either for good or bad? Was it a huge revelation or major event? Many times, it's actually the small things that affect us. Something someone says or does. Things that, to others, might seem quite insignificant. But they make a difference to us. I remember at a time when I was very shy, and it was hard for me to communicate, I would write letters and notes to people. One dear lady told me that I was so good at writing letters, I should be an author. I never forgot that. It encouraged me, and to this day, I love to write - stories, blogs, devotions, etc. I'm sure she didn't think much about it at the time; she was only saying what was on her mind. But for me, it was a blessing.

Did you know that: a simple slingshot was used to defeat the gigantic leader of an army and strike fear into the hearts of all his soldiers? The jawbone of a donkey was used to kill hundreds of enemy soldiers? A little boy's lunch of 2 fishes and 5 loaves of barley bread was used to feed over 5,000 people? One piece of fruit was used to cast all of humankind into sin?

"But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;" 1 Corinthians 1:27 Be careful what you say and do. Never underestimate the power you hold. "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." Proverbs 18:21. God uses small things and normal people. Through simple ways you may not understand, God could use YOU to make an "extreme" difference in someone's life today.
